Daily Duties at Sodexo, Inc.:

Responsibilities included ensuring all vendor invoices (six million annually) and employee business expense reports (120k annually) were processed timely and accurately on a weekly basis. These invoices were for food and supply purchases made by Sodexo’s operating units that included food cafeterias, vending warehouses, and facilities maintenance locations. This was accomplished by managing a staff of 43 employees consisting of seven exempt and 36 non-exempt employees. I was also responsible for the Sodexo Fleet consisting of 700 passenger vehicles and 2,400 commercial vehicles. Managed an annual operating budget totaling $2.6 million. I was also responsible for identifying opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining accuracy, internal controls, and productivity within the accounts payable process. All vendor invoices would be charged to the ordering location. On a monthly basis approximately 10,000 profit and loss statements would be produced within a five day financial close. At one time the close process took up to 10 business days to complete. The reduction was primarily due to the implementation of increased usage of technology throughout the accounting system. The accounting system was designed to deal with very complex accounting transactions. Objective is to become world class in all the processes. For three years during this time period I was responsible for the Fixed Asset function. This included acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and client investments. There were approximately 15k assets ranging from microwave ovens to walk-in freezers/coolers.
