Daily Duties at Cargill, Incorporated:

Managed all U.S. and Puerto Rico based retirement plans and deferred compensation arrangements. This included: 1 Employee Stock Ownership Plan (one of the largest in the US), 5 Defined Benefit Pension Plans, 6 Defined Contribution Plans, 12 Retiree Health Plans, 3 Top Hat Plans, 3 Supplemental Executive Retirement Plans (SERP). Was responsible for the design, administration, implementation, legal compliance, collective bargaining negotiations, employee engagement, and vendor selection and management relative to all the aforementioned plans. Development and ongoing support of the Cargill HR Shared Service Center delivery model. Responsible for negotiating pricing, service level agreements (SLA), and performance guarantees with 30 business units annually and on an add-hoc basis for projects throughout the year. Relationship management with 30 business units (internal customers). Acted as the subject-matter expert and leader for the Benefits Department M&A team. This included members from both the retirement plans and health and welfare plans team. Responsible for collaborating with business unit HR teams and cross-functionally for due diligence and in creating, communicating, and implementing benefits and compensation strategies relative to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, and joint ventures. Partnered with business unit HR leadership and provided counsel to corporate leadership team to ensure the alignment of benefits and compensation philosophies and deliverables with strategic goals. Ensure the proper allocation of resources in order to deliver desired results on time and within budget. Monitoring of market trends and industry best practices, and benchmarked to ensure delivery of cost effective and market competitive benefits and compensation plans and programs.
