Daily Duties at Consolidated Contractors Company:

I was charged with the daily administration of primary and subcontracts in Egypt in excess of $2 billion. These contracts varied widely in type, scope, area, value and their unique challenges and conditions. Several contracts were USAID contracts for waste water treatment plants, power generation facilities and hospitals. Other contracts included large mixed use facilities, The new Saudi Arabian Embassy in Cairo, Egypt and seven international hotels, including both remodels and new construction. I negotiated sub contracts and material purchases. I prepared new tenders and participated in planning and start up of new projects. I prepared change orders and responded to request for information. I supervised the technical office and prepared claims. I regularly met with client and project management representatives, subcontractors and suppliers. I participated in hiring new employees as well as performance reviews. I managed my departmental budget of $72k monthly. I managed and directed direct reports of 18 technical staff. Held full responsibility for, and was personally in charge of analyzing and writing the claims for Phase I and II of the project (City Stars- GPP) valued at two hundred million (US$200M). Recovered full amount plus additional funds identified during the discovery process. Advised joint ventures senior management concerning strategy and methodology of said claim in accordance with F.I.D.I.C. (Red Book). • Trained junior analyst and researchers and coordinated their day-to-day activities. Built and maintained a highly competent cross-trained team capable of addressing routine claims and contract administration. • Leveraged in depth and complete knowledge in the S.C.L protocol and all analytical methodologies concerning delay and disruption impact and quantification, including internationally recognized forensic techniques. Ensured company had a well-defined program and complete records, had secured an agreement on all principles relating to delay and compensation, defined clear and precise steps as to how to deal with extensions of time during the project, and specifics as to how to address disputed extensions of time during or after the project was completed. • Oversaw the analysis and consulting on a number of significant projects and claims of varying size and value. Provided in-depth upfront input during proposal and negotiations stages to ensure all potential risks were identified and mitigation plans developed and put in place.
