Daily Duties at Oceanit Laboratories:

- Provided key support in the development and study of a unique infrared camera system built around a patented position sensitive detector (PSD) array for the study of rapid, high energy thermal events. - Performed pre- and post-operation infrared radiometric calibrations of both telescope and lens based optical systems - Configured hardware to conduct infrared optical experiments to test and evaluate PSD arrays as well as components and full systems utilizing detectors - Automated acquisition and reduction of laboratory test data - Maintained laboratory hardware (periodic calibration, repair, software, firmware upgrading) - Performed critical troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical equipment and software problems - Maintained archive of data generated during both lab experiments and field acquisitions, - Performed data analysis on field acquisitions of ballistic missile defense operations - Created and documented test procedures - Conducted maintenance of Linux and Windows based computing and data analysis resources - Wrote technical documentation for quarterly reports and other technical briefings - Set up and maintained technical knowledge repositories - Conducted software work in IDL, Excel, Python, C++, PHP, Extended Javascript, and bash scripting - Performed electrical wiring, optical configuration of Stirling and nitrogen dewars, safe handling of delicate infrared detectors - Researched and provided specifications and recommendations for hardware purchases for scientific work
