Daily Duties at Millennium Engineering:
- Applied technical expertise in the study of rapid, high energy thermal events using infrared camera technology (SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR). - Performed pre- and post-operation infrared radiometric calibrations of telescope and lens based optical systems using both cavity and extended source blackbodies on ground based systems - Performed data analysis on infrared camera field acquisitions of ballistic missile defense activities - Performed hardware work including electrical wiring, handling and maintenance of infrared camera systems - Conducted research on and provided recommendations for critical hardware purchases - Set up and configured hardware to conduct infrared optical experiments - Maintained laboratory hardware (calibration, repair, software and firmware upgrading) - Performed critical troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical equipment and software problems - Maintained the archive of data generated during both lab experiments and field acquisitions - Created and documented test procedures - Conducted maintenance of Linux and Windows based computing and data acquisition resources - Wrote technical documentation for reporting requirements and technical briefings - Conducted software development in IDL/GDL, Mathcad/Octave, Excel, Python, C++, and bash scripting
