Daily Duties at Mammoth Hospital:
Directly the supervised the performance improvement coordinator, education coordinator, case manager, and infection preventionist, initiated and co-chaired the Quality Council, member of the Administrative Team, assigned as Risk Manager, implemented CMS core measures abstraction and performed closed chart abstractions, prepared and presented quarterly Quality reports to the Board, initiated and facilitated performance improvement teams, taught quality improvement theory and team facilitation to direct reports, taught Lean theory and tools to all managers and some department staff, served on the Leadership Development Institute guidance team, wrote and obtained Board approval for annual Quality Plan, implemented a format for departmental quality plans, assisted department managers to prepare annual quality plans, researched and recommended hospital accreditation program to the Board, contracted with DNV for hospital accreditation, performed hospital accreditation gap analyses: The Joint Commission and the DNV, directed responses to CDPH complaint visits, CMS survey visits, and a mock accreditation survey, consulted on quality concerns with administration and management, researched options and implemented the Verge incident tracking system (complaints, compliments, safety incidents)
