Daily Duties at Us Bank:
Planned and provisioned servers in the major data centers. Decommissioned servers to clean up the data centers, as well as clean up of documentation, and Aperture Vista 600. Facilitated project meetings and shared knowledge of necessary requirements to ensure successful and complete projects. Planned new installations by obtaining server names, IPs, switch names, blades and port, then entering the information into Aperture Vista 600 and updating the documentation of the equipment. Setup and maintain server hardware, including networking, console, power, and lights-out management. Monitor and manage inbound and outbound shipments including RMA process of all equipment. Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills on a variety of hardware platforms. Have a thorough understanding of cabinet design and the management of power, space and cooling usage. Ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment. Maintain asset management system. Assist team members as Team Lead in solving non-routine project issues. Was part of a 13 person team that took care of 3 Data Center and smaller sites across the US. Would have monthly meeting for status and what we were working on for projects.
