Daily Duties at Municipality Of Anchorage:

Responsible for acquiring supplies, services, professional services and construction in support of the Municipality of Anchorage’s operations. All informal Request for Quotations (RFQ’s), Request for Proposals (RFP’s), and Invitations to Bid (ITB’s) are written, advertised and awarded by the Purchasing Department. Facilitate the public bid process (pre-bid meetings, bid opening and post-bid meetings), issues purchase orders and prepares/executes contracts. Interpret and communicate purchasing procedures and policies to departments, vendors and staff. Monitor the maintenance of records regarding pricing and ordering of materials, prepared reports analysis and made recommendations. Negotiated contracts and bid proposals. Analyzed departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information. Assisted in the preparation of monthly commodity projections and market conditions to various business units. Evaluated and purchased materials for Municipal facilities at a competitive cost. Promoted value engineering analyses to support ongoing performance improvement and cost reduction. Managed the competitive bid process on a routine and regular basis for all major categories assigned. Reviewed cost of goods regularly and made substitution recommendations in the interest of cost, quantity, quality or delivery time.
