Daily Duties at Westchester County Dept Of Health:
Conducted research on HIV/AIDS cases in Tri-County area to support the Ryan White CARE Act grant requests for medical and social services. Compared the national, NYS, and Tri-County Regions AIDS cases by risk, race, age and sex to support the request for funding for services for specific sub-populations in Tri-County region. Data analysis was used to identify the populations at risk so preventive and treatment services could focus on the high risk populations, .Provided the HIV/AIDS reports to social services and gave presentations for them to understand the data and ask questions about providing services to select populations. Participated in team meetings to discuss the identification of HIV/AIDS clients and determine how to use resources to meet their needs and prevent further transmission of HIV/AIDS. Made visits to community clinics to provide information about HIV/AIDS at risk populations in their community and suggest resources for their care. With HIV/AIDS data, participated in team meetings to develop strategies to prevent transmission of HIV in communities, clinics, and prisons and make health promotion presentations to those communities. .
