As a senior public information specialist in the Media Liaison office, I was responsible for responding to inquiries from reporters and editors about air quality issues, mainly questions about severe ambient air quality conditions and enforcement actions against rule violators, I also wrote press releases to pitch feature stories about things the agency did to share its mitigation procedures with other organizations, staff participation in international conferences, seminars and forums; and agency events organized to solicit public assistance in identifying polluters and promote agency programs to assist the public in minimizing exposure to air pollution.
