Public Information Specialist for the Public Advisor's Office; Supervised Public Information Center, where air quality information is disseminated to the public in the agency's main lobby; scheduled staffing assignments, replenished documents, handled customer phone calls subordinates were unable to (difficult callers, callers needing more technical information, etc.); recorded air quality updates and forecasts on the general information line; fielded calls to the 1-800-CUT-SMOG line reporting smoking vehicles; coordinated Speakers Bureau, logging all written requests for speakers, sending requests to appropriate departments to provide speakers and providing general air quality presentations myself; compiled slide presentations and scripts for others to give general presentations about the agency and its roles in notifying the public about air quality conditions, rules and regulations designed to control air pollution and things individuals can do to minimize exposure and reduce their own contributions to poor air quality. Organized agency outreach events, such as the annual Clean Air Awrds luncheon and community town-hall meetings addressing environmental justice issues; wrote and edited articles, took photos and provided page layout for newsletters, brochures, pamphlets and programs; coordinated logistics for indoor and outdoor events; wrote contracts and sponsorship agreements with organizations hosting events that support the clean-air message; contributed feature articles of employees' interesting outside lives for internal newsletter
