Daily Duties at Mbna America:
Managed Systems Engineering staff of 8 technical engineers HP UX, Sun Solaris, AIX and Linux systems environments, providing direction and leadership, including coordinating the Change Control efforts with a focus on excellence in execution. Implemented new software and hardware solutions across various environments. Coordinated hardware changes with vendors, business units and other management personnel. Responsible for Operating Systems upgrades, OS patching, all systems configuration changes and provide day to day production support across environment. Managed the corporate change process for Systems Engineering teams. Performed troubleshooting, problem determination and root cause analysis, fully documenting findings with focus on future problem avoidance. Managed daily production escalation process for issues within environment, reporting status to senior management. Provided senior management with a daily status update for systems availability metrics. Provided 24x7x365 day to day support including on-call support for Sun, HP UX, AIX and Linux systems directing teams for the world wide organization. Evaluated, reviewed, architected and designed technology changes, system solutions and improvements Performed software and hardware evaluations and provide recommendations. Responsible for OEM and third party software management, administration and support. Hire, manage and maintain team based upon corporate goals and objectives. Performed annual employee performance appraisals. Developed annual departmental objectives and build plans for achieving stated objectives.
