Daily Duties at Carlson Behavioral Health Consulting:
Helped new or underperfoming entities meet their goals. Responsibilities varied depending on client. Worked primarily through word of mouth to maintain steady business. Traveled as needed. Spent initial six months helping addiction company open an acute psychiatric hospital. Spent one month on the road and returned home for a few days to then return for another month. Helped them pass initial survey and then returned for another seven months to pass another survey. Worked with an Assisted Living Company to transition from senior care to Domiciliary Veteran's behavioral health care including substance abuse and PTSD programs. Also assisted in developing case management program and prepare for CARF survey. Worked with confidential alternative substance abuse program that was requested by VA to duplicate program in another state. The requester was unhappy with current alcohol treatment program for active armed service personnel.Spent six months in Thailand assisting with start up international recovery program. Spent the next year developing marketing material and attending national addiction conferences in the United States. Also provided screening via Skype for English speaking candidates to enter into the program.
