Daily Duties at United States Air Force:
4/1990 to Present –United States Air Force/Arkansas Air National Guard 3/13 to Present, Director of Staff–Air, Joint Forces Headquarters, Arkansas National Guard Responsible for the daily oversight and operations of two Air Force wings in the state of Arkansas exceeding $70M operating budget and 1,900+ personnel and directly impact human resources, budgets, policies and procedures, readiness and training, and facility/campus master planning. 5/12 to 3/13, Vice Commander, 189th Airlift Wing, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas Responsible for the daily operations of a C130 Flying Training Unit providing the USAF with trained aircrews. Executed an annual operating budget of $35+M and provided oversight of 750+ personnel, 400 of which provide direct worldwide combat support. Directly responsible for Judge Advocate, Safety, Equal Opportunity, Chaplains, Comptroller/Financial Management, Inspector General, and various office staff functions. I am responsible for equipping and training of unit members supporting home station and worldwide military operations and oversee the duties of the Mission Support Group Commander and Base Civil Engineer as described below. 7/10 to 5/12, Deputy Director, Logistics/Engineering, National Guard Bureau, Arlington, VA Directly responsible for the daily operations of the directorate, supervised 22 personnel fielding over $60M of equipment supporting homeland response force units who are trained and equipped to support local authorities in the event of a domestic disaster ranging from severe weather to nuclear, chemical, biological incidents, man-made or accidental. Also responsible for warehousing operations in Lexington, KY, supporting units with critical resupply assets for long term support operations to local, state and federal response forces. 11/07 to 7/10, Commander, 189th Mission Support Group, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas Directly responsible for equipping and training over 350 Airmen from Force Support (Personnel), Communications, Civil Engineering (see below), Security Forces, Logistics, Vehicle Maintenance, Fleet Management and Contracting. Also provide supervision for Environmental Management, Military Construction and Military Personnel budgets. Served as the Civil Engineer representative on a national level council and as Course Director for the Intermediate Development Course for new flight and squadron commanders. Conducted and evaluated exercises testing the unit’s ability to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Also provided oversight for campus maintenance and construction activities for 20 facilities, 300k SF and 66+ acres.
