Daily Duties at Office Of The State Attorney Ninth Judicial Circuit:
Reviewing assigned cases, contacting witnesses, research the applicable laws involved with the type case, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the case, review the defendants criminal history, make an offer to resolve the case, hold plea discussions with defense counsel, argue and pretrial motions, develop legal theory, prepare case for trial i.e.jury selection (voir dire) opening statement, question witnesses, make legal arguments/present caselaw, closing argument. I began as an intern/legal trainee then progressed through the ranks as an Assistant State Attorney in Juvenile, County Court Bureau and finally Felony Division.
