Daily Duties at La Financial Credit Union:
Manage the accounting, facility, and human resource functions as well as the outside relationships with the external auditors, regulators, investment portfolio advisor, BOLI advisor, medical/dental/vision broker, 401k vendor (also trustee), as well as numerous other vendors. Main focus when I started at the credit union was to prudently grow the balance sheet (loans and shares) while maintaining an adequate ROA and net worth ratio. Headed the Funds Management Committee which entailed setting the agenda, reviewing the current and future financial position of the credit union, and training the committee on asset liability management subject matters. Set the agenda and present financial matters at the Supervisory Committee. Interacted individually, through committees, and board meetings with the Board of Directors to discuss the strategic direction of the credit union. Managed the budgeting process, which reflected operating expenses of $13 million. Responsible for managing the investment portfolio of $150 million, as well as short and long term liquidity.
