• Provided information in person or over the telephone to the public regarding the unemployment insurance program • Required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and or manual recording and information systems used by agency office or related units. • Interviewed claimants and explained monetary requirements • Audited figures by comparing records of dates and amounts with computer records to determine correct figures. • Prepared statistical reports. • Processed continued claims and reviewed for completeness and accuracy. • Checked applications, reports and other documents for duplicity, accuracy completeness and compliance with law and procedure. • Explained and answered questions on procedures for filing new and continued unemployment claims under the various programs to help claimants understand the procedures and their rights under the law. Explained basic laws, rules, and regulations governing eligibility for benefits. • Computed monetary determinations for claimants with multi employers using learned principles, regulations, and manuals to fix rate of benefits and employer charges. • Assists Unemployment examiners in the performance of their duties. • Reviewed employment history on claim forms and record industry codes and registration number of employers • Prepared request for wage and separation information where applicable and, mails to employers.
