Spearhead initiation, implementation, and achievement of company goals and strategy, Participate and in some instances lead international clinical development-, translational medicine-, technology-, and licensing- teams. In/Out-licensing. Discover new therapeutic modalities for cancer and other diseases. Discover and implement technology in division. Serve on Novartis appointed teams to develop global management and strategy in functional genomics, angiogenesis, gene regulation, and gene therapy, as well as oncology internal programs, in-licensing/acquisition analysis, due-diligence, and technology evaluation. Assist in managing 100 person Novartis division and ~ $20M annual budget, ~and represented department at Novartis Global Board meetings. Lead potential products from discovery into first in man clinical trials. Led matrixed multi-disciplinary teams composed of experts from pre-clinical, research, toxicology, early clinical, marketing, manufacturing, translational and regulatory.
