Daily Duties at Southwood Psychiatric Hospital :

Provided individual and family therapy, completed psycho-social assessments and assisted with discharge planning Responsible for collaborating services for children ages 4-18, within an acute in-patient setting Collaborated with parents, foster parents, legal guardians, psychiatrists, physicians, mental health therapists, children and youth services, probation officers and educational personnel and residential treatment facilities to ensure the most appropriate and therapeutic setting for the child upon discharge from the acute inpatient unit Completed psychosocial assessments daily for each child admitted to the facility. Completed phone calls to gather pertinent information and obtain proper release of information to help collaborate proper care while the child remained in-patient and to plan appropriate discharge plans Mandated reporter of any sign of physical or mental abuse for any of the children on the in-patient unit Responsible for presenting the needs and living environments/arrangements for a caseload at daily meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of inpatient staff, nurses and lead psychiatrist Provided recommendations and assessment findings to the lead psychiatrist and collaborated with them on the inpatient care plan and discharge plan Provided clinical information to insurance plans/carriers to ensure proper length of stay for the child
