I was promoted to Executive Director in July of 2010. I was promoted to help build the program. Sat on Board of Directors of the non-profit as well. My role was to manager an in office Staff of 4 and to review and manage 300+ coaches across the city of Boston. I managed an athletic budget of 500K, using that money to source the most cost effecting equipment and support for the city. I reviewed the city athletic budget of $1.5 million and found over 20% in savings. I was also responsible for auditing the equipment procurement and storage process and identified and system of supply chain management that is saving the department 25% annually on purchases. I was also responsible for working directly with BPS and the Teachers Union to negotiate coaches hiring contracts. I launched and managed a girls varsity soccer program that now has 12 teams and annual has 300+ girls participating, a 20% increase citywide. I also funded and managed a program that put athletic directors in 5 of the 15 schools. There are 17 schools that I was responsible for and 200+ athletic teams serving over 3000 kids through out the city. Work with coaching staff and BPS and transportation supervisor to schedule all athletic departure times and provide bus supervision with trip sheets and manage the $4 million budget. Evaluated all athletic programs on an annual basis. Made recommendations for improvement to the superintendent and BPS administrator.
What they like about Boston Scholar Athletes Program (Bsa):
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
