Daily Duties at Cleveland Clinic Fairview General Hospital:
LPN on med/surg step-down unit x5 yrs LPN in med/surg ICU x5 yrs Receive & transcribe verbal & written physician orders. Primary care & team nursing experience. Ventilator care. Oral, tracheostomy & endotracheal tube care & suctioning. Bedside monitor, IV/PCA/tube feeding pump use. SWAN, triple lumen, arterial line, ventriculostomy, epidural catheter, dialysis catheter, chest tube care/monitoring/maintenance. Insertion & maintenance of foley catheter, angio catheter, NG & OG tubes. ECG monitoring/interpretation. Medication administration, including IV fluids (IV/PO/NG/GT/topical/SC/IM injections). Pre/post operative patient care. Wound care, dressing changes, ostomy care. Assist physicians with procedures such as: chest tube, SWAN & triple lumen catheter insertion, thorocentesis, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy. Emotional/psychological support of patient & family. Computer database charting/documentation.
