Daily Duties at Wal Mart Phamacy And Central Fill:

Working as a Staff Pharmacist, I was responsible for all aspects of Pharmacy Operations within the store including inventory, personnel and security with emphasis on customer relations. I provided good customer service and satisfied the customer health care needs in and out of the Pharmacy area and openly communicated with customers/patients while protecting their confidential health and drug information. I provided counsel to customers having medical questions and solicited information on a customers medical history to give appropriate medical advice. As a Staff Pharmacist, I interpreted physicians prescriptions, contacted doctors or other prescribers and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name in order to expedite the processing of the orders. I tracked order status and outstanding issues as well as consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions. I took calls from customers regarding lost orders pr dispensing errors, maintain daily production, quality of service levels, vary work priorities and activities to accommodate business needs. I trained less experienced pharmacists and technicians. I helped maintained a perpetual schedule ll inventory and complied to all security and Loss Prevention procedures. I provided quality assurance to pharmacy technicians. I verified prescription information entered into the pharmacy system by data entry. Contacted physicians for new/or transferred drugs whenever possible. I worked with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible. I backed up other pharmacist as needed, performed additional duties as assigned, or on my on. Working in a production facility like Wal-Mart Central Fill, I worked in many sections of the production area. I was responsible for verifying and confirming the patients data entry and viewing the correct drug in the vial. Provided oversight and quality assurance in exceptions and bulk. Viewed prescriptions in unit of use verifying and confirming patient data entry and the correct drug being dispensed. Worked in replenishment where I provided oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians filling the cells at the 6 Paratas and 2 Kalishs. I backed up pharmacists as needed, performed additional duties as assigned by management and trained less experienced and new pharmacist and technicians. I adhered to the quotas set by the facility usually exceeding the expected quotas.
