Daily Duties at Ohio Air National Guard:

Lead DMS Messaging Technician and NCOIC of an 8-person System Administration team tasked to provide technical and analytical guidance for maintaining all messaging services provided by the Network Control Center Services and support for network hardware and software to include various servers and management terminals; Additional duties required the generation of x.509 requests in support of user and NCC FORTEZZA requirements and to generate PKI certificate requests of messaging system; solid knowledge of IP networks including PC/server operating system network configuration & familiarity with configuration of CISCO switches. Responsibilities: This responsibility includes installing, managing, configuring and maintaining all Windows servers using Messaging and Directory applications (DMS/Microsoft Exchange 2003) and supporting messaging system clients (MS Outlook). Duties require ensuring that the server systems are properly integrated into the existing Active Directory (AD) infrastructure without affecting other AD services. Ensure the accuracy of the information contained in the GAL to ensure the validity of the contact list; installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the Defense Messaging System including DMS Exchange Servers, clients, the ADUA, and the LDSA. Skills Used: Customer Service skills to support help desk operations, Work on incidents, service and change requests using internally developed central ticketing tools, managed and supported MS DMS Exchange 2003 and LDAP servers. Maintain general knowledge of various DII/GIG services including DSN, Unclassified Network (NIPRnet) and the Classified Network (SIPRnet), their configuration and security requirements, their uses, and their potential vulnerabilities; maintain knowledge of various operating systems, network software, user software, and be aware of known vulnerabilities within these systems and maintain knowledge of applicable user level and information assurance guidance and regulations. Stay informed of all applicable network security and system alerts provided by Air Force Network Operational Command and any applicable Network Operational System Centers. Responsible for personnel training and management issues; Responsible for the planning policies, documenting implementing the training & setting objectives for team, Maintain professional and technical skills. Background includes fundamental knowledge in computer science, administration, data processing, engineering, logic-based mathematics, basic database concepts, & systems analysis & design; computer hardware systems; training development & training; program management; asset management.
