Daily Duties at Advocate Fitness, Advocate Healthcare:

• Schedules staff coverage for hours of facility operations, program coverage and meetings • Prepares, collects and analyzes data for written reports. Reports include monthly reports such as quality indicators report and activity summary; quarterly summary reports and annual reports including risk management audit, marketing plan and ten-year capital plan • Collaborates with internal and company representatives • Monitors facility and equipment maintenance, repair and cleaning • Maintains contact with customer base • Creates programs to increase the number of new members and retain current members • Promotes awareness through bulletin boards, presentations, discussions, publications and flyers • Designs promotional materials for advertising programs • Solicits and recruits participants for all programs • Implements and troubleshoots program components • Evaluates program results and makes written recommendations • Ensures professional interactions between staff and customers • Monitors compliance with Advocate Fitness “Service Standards” • Cultivates an environment which encourages team work and people development • Responds promptly to customer complaints • Encourages communication based on courtesy and respect • Utilizes “Targeted Selection” as a hiring instrument • Supervises day-to-day staff accountabilities and job activities • Recruits staff for open positions • Trains new staff in all aspects of their job responsibilities • Conducts regularly scheduled individual coaching sessions including disciplinary procedures when necessary • Schedules team building activities • Facilitates weekly staff meetings • Coordinates educational and informational staff development sessions • Performs yearly performance appraisals • Develops and monitors operational and capital budgets for designated fitness center • Monitors, analyzes and reports on monthly and yearly membership and programming trends • Tracks and adjusts finances for the fitness center • Monitors the fitness center budget designed by the Director of Advocate Fitness • Reports on social accountability • Monitors survey results for customer satisfaction and identification of needed improvements • Performs fitness testing and exercise counselling based on ACSM guidelines • Attends industry conferences for professional development and maintenance of certification through continuing education credits • Develops relationship with member’s doctor (when appropriate) to design a program which most effectively meets the member’s needs • Conducts educational sessions for various populations • Keeps up-to-date on industry standards and trends then implements information into staff education and training programs • Designs appropriate exercise prescriptions for special populations based on individual needs and doctor’s recommendations • Responds to requests for informational presentations • Participates in health fairs, panel discussions and committees (as time permits) • Consults with telephone requests for information
