Daily Duties at Drs Technologies:

Director of Program Management and Business Operations for the avionics line of business, programs including Boresight ,Deployable Flight Recorders , High Speed Cameras, Net centric Black box Mission recorders, including Maps processing. Responsibilities include over site of program management for these product lines and all employees consisting of 60 employees. Project/ programs consisting of 3 people to 25 people and there are various programs ranging from 100K to 25M. Responsible for all line of business operations ensuring profitability and loss with seven direct reports. Executing sales strategy including bid and proposal budgeting, Determine areas of improvement and to help grow the organization. Develop and train employees to become a more structured program management office. Develop team of program managers and provide the proper training and guidance to achieve internal and external success. Hold weekly Staff meetings to discuss new procedures and policy changes. Weekly prioritization meeting coordinating functional area resources. Weekly finance forecasting meeting to discuss Sales/revenue, Orders/Bookings, Gross Margin and accounts receivables / Cash receipts. Report weekly to Sr. Mgt on financials and explain all variances analysis. Prepare all quarterly reporting slides for presentation. Chair monthly program reviews with all IPTs to discuss program status, progress , issues and financials. Set process control for program reporting and metrics along with quality engineering. Control of all budgets including IRAD, Bid and Proposal , Warranty , capital to assure completion of projects on time and within budget. Strategize with business development to capture more market share, developing product road maps and opportunity charts. Resolve conflicts between personnel and program issues. Oversight of shipping and receiving to assure export controls are in place. Break out of Yearly goals for all program and engineering to hold people accountable. Perform cost tradeoffs when necessary for make / buy decisions. Negotiate with customers on contract funding defining labor material proposals. Review of all proposals and performing ROI analysis. Provide technical and management oversight to multiple product teams. Responsible for seven program managers who have IPTs consisting of approx 15 people in each team. Manage , coach, mentor develop the performance of the teams. Focus on Hi potential employees training and mentoring. Participate in employee selection and recruiting activities. Drive Export , trade and ISO compliance throughout the organization. Oversight to logistics and new product launches i.e FDI Flight Data Initiative, development program to assure goals are met and strategic goals were taken into consideration. Development of all department budgets. Oversight on manufacturing in Canada and Pennsylvania. Weekly / daily IPT meetings with customers resolving technical issues and schedule delays. Use of internal Standard enterprise Practices for all phase gates reviews stating at phase 0 bid/no bid decisions. Provide direct support to the General Manager , play significant role in the planning and development for future business development. Support financial management P&L and other cost drivers, including over head and rate discussions. Use of Earned Value Measurement ,EVMS for management cost reporting ETC, EAC SPI, CPI. Develop Customer relationships to help program and customer satisfaction. Use of Metrics KPI Key performance indicators to manage functional area performance and take action when needed. Use of Risk and opportunities metrics and tools to manage program critical areas. Active - Secret clearance . Work closely with all Sr. Staff members including Contracts, engineering, Business Development, Finance, accounting, Quality, manufacturing in various locations, subcontracts. Develop and maintain program reporting status charts for monthly program reviews. Bachelors Degree Electronic Engineering Technology with 28 years experience. 17 years experience directly leading people of cross functional project teams. 28 Years in manufacturing /engineering environment. Track record of leadership, interpersonal , collaborative relationship building skills.
