Collaborated with a technical team to build the environmental programs from the ground up in support of the new remedial action contract and scope. Consulted with CHPRC environmental and regulatory personnel including the project ECOs in the research review and interpret the initial regulatory documents/requirements to ensure project success. Environmental Management Responsibilities Included: • Identified select qualified personnel to fill key project environmental field roles, then trained and evaluated them. Environmental management responsibilities included: o Maintaining and interpreting compliance documents, reports, plans, field documents, work authorizations and performance and environmental assessments o Ensuring contract, work-scope and implementation plan were interpreted and conducted according to approved regulatory decision documents o Providing planning and conducted risk/hazards evaluations, performance and environmental assessments and reporting o Analyzing/reviewing soils, air and environmental sampling data recommend solutions and make decisions o Implementing environmental compliance and waste minimization efforts and determined backfill requirements o Providing documents and PowerPoint presentations to DOE and regulators on project status o Identifying hazardous conditions and communicating them to management and field personnel made recommendations and issued corrective actions o Responding to and conducted investigations of spills and anomalies provided oversight and ensured safe, appropriate and timely clean-up and issued reports. o Assisted in the preparation of permits reviewed and provided comment for compliance
