Daily Duties at Aecom:

 Manages the day-to-day office and field operations for federal contractor (AECOM) in support of the Department of Defense community; specifically, the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (309 AMARG) at Davis- Monthan AFB, Arizona.  Supervises 167 contract personnel performing critical aerospace maintenance and regeneration capabilities for war fighters in support of global operations and combat support of military operations.  Oversees and directs all maintenance functions and personnel in support of the Group’s 576th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Squadron (AMRS), which consists of the A-10 Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), F-4 Regeneration, and C-130 Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM).  Provides development, direction, and coordination of maintenance in support of the Group’s 577th Commodities Reclamation Squadron (CMRS), which consists of work involving the Paint Shop, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), Aircraft parts reclamation, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and aircraft overland shipments.  Responsible for total oversight of all GFE removed, issued and stored aircraft parts and equipment IAW FAR Part 45.  Assists in the bid preparation/production of task order proposals in accordance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Fair Opportunity Notice (FON).  Researches information in support of business development and proposal preparation for Contract Field Team (CFT) endeavors.  Conducts investigations and provides remedies in response to customer and employee complaints/concerns.  Manages the recruitment process using the standard recruiting and hiring methods necessary to recruit and hire a superior work force.  Executes all employee disciplinary actions in accordance with State and Federal labor laws, as well as, company policies and procedures.  Performs work associated with Firm Fixed Price (FFP) / Time and Materials (T&M) / Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) / Cost Plus Awarded Fee (CPAF) contracts.  Ensures compliance with pay rates and benefits provided to employees in accordance with the appropriate Wage Determination under the Services Contract Act.  Performs cost analysis of personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical examinations for incorporation into task order proposals.  Generates performance metrics in accordance with contractual guidelines.  Compiles and generates monthly reports for the program office and corporate office pertaining to quality and safety successes and/or issues.  Completes purchase requisitions for all funding requirements.  Ensures timely submission of requested technical progress reports, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), and performance metrics.  Performs market research to determine availability of pertinent resources.  Ensures best value is provided to the government in meeting its requirements.  Serves as site Environmental Safety and Health officer (ESHO) and Facility Security Officer (FSO) ensuring compliance with all security and force protection requirements. Assesses risk and revises policies, procedures, and local operating instructions as necessary to ensure a safe work environment.  Acts within scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices and develops programs or procedures employing original ideas and methods as necessary.  Ensures the efficient internal operations of the site office.  Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action and makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policy, practices and procedures.  Speaks at Military Transition Assistance Program Seminars (TAPS) as invited by the Department of Workforce Services to discuss interview techniques / tips, resume writing, employment opportunities after the military, etc.  Prepares appropriate forms and ensures necessary steps are taken for employees to obtain badges (i.e. Computer Access Cards, etc.), computer access, email accounts, etc.  Conducts new employee orientation and completes related paperwork.  Processes payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly basis.  Supports government audit programs (i.e. higher headquarters inspection teams) within the Group.  Develops marketing strategies for new business and/or partnering opportunities.  Attends weekly production meetings with Commander to discuss staffing requirements, coordination of maintenance, and techniques to improve effectiveness and productivity.  Analyzes and resolves work problems and remains available for consultation of matters relating to the work being performed.
