Daily Duties at Iran Oil Company:
1- Description of rule: a) Research on different type of flares, flare calculations, knockout drum calculation, safety, design parameters, and knock-out drum. b) Research on available flare software. c) Providing a new flare utility and in HYSYS using HYSYS extension and visual basic. 2- Details on a daily basis: First 3 months (Research): I worked with a PhD student and a Master's student and studied the calculation of different type of flares (elevated flare, ground flare), also calculation of different knock-out drums. My duty was to study of the heat released from the combustion based on flow rate, pressure and temperature and concentration of inlet gas. also study calculation of flare height and distance from other units. Next 6 months (Programming): Our group wrote the program codes in VB and linked them with HYSYS using HYSYS extension. I wrote 70% of the codes in VB and I made the interface for both flare and knockout drum utilities in HYSYS. Last 3 months (Troubleshooting):After finishing the program. We ran the several simulations and compared the results and fixed the bugs.
