Daily Duties at Office Of National Drug Control Policy:

Represents the Chief, National Guard Bureau to the Director, ONDCP (aka "Drug Czar") by linking a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the Executive Office of the President on all counterdrug related matters. Day to day responsibilities include participating in high level staff meetings, advocating for the National Guard Counterdrug program, providing subject matter expertise on pressing drug issues and suggesting process improvements on procedural matters. Daily coordination with other liaison officers from other federal agencies including Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Homeland Security. Brief and prepare senior level ONDCP staff (Presidential Appointees) on priority initiatives by coordinating with other agencies and subject matter experts. Prepare talking points, speeches and written correspondence in response to agency requests and Congressional inquiries. Review white papers, strategies, studies and scholarly papers for relevance and application to current and emerging drug policy issues.
