Daily Duties at Basf:
Responsible for the efficient operation of production, shipping and warehousing functions of the Quincy Plant. 1. Produce products within approved specifications 2. Package products to approved specifications 3. Define process variables as they affect product quality 4. Prepare and maintain process operating procedure to assure process quality control 5. Define and maintain acceptable labor, energy and equipment utilization factors 6. Perform plant material balance annually 7. Monitor consumption of purchased materials 8. Analyze and report on department cost variance to budget 9. Develop job descriptions, qualifications and performance standards for salary and hourly personnel 10. Manage the “Performance Management System” for salaried personnel 11. Prepare annual department budget 12. Maintain proper labor relations and implementation of contractual agreement 13. Maintain proper records for reporting and production data history 14. Develop and maintain a department cost improvement program 15. Meet delivery reliability of >85%. 16. Directs all aspects of safety within the production department. 17. Maintain good working relationship with railroad and trucking company representatives 18. Assign department goals and objectives designed to optimize equipment efficiency and overall productivity 19. Develop, organize and maintain efficient scheduling and shipping procedures 20. Operate plant to conform to all government regulatory standards as directed 21. Develop and maintain housekeeping standards for efficiency 22. Work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress, timetables and issues; addressing problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions; addressing others by name, title or other respectful identifier, and; respecting the diversity of our workforce in actions, words and deeds.
