Daily Duties at Colorado State University:
As a graduate researcher I home built Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance instruments and programmed them to study a variety of scientific applications. As all of the instruments were home built, I was also responsible for trouble shooting them and identifying and repairing damaged instruments. As a post-doc I built a Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) instrument and designed experiments to determine the kinetics of the folding and unfolding reaction mechanism of labeled RNA and DNA hairpins.
