Daily Duties at Espn:
• Wrote custom queries using PL/SQL to extract NHL player information and then created heat maps to enhance the real-time game presentation using R for ESPN TV and ESPN Web outlets. • Used PL/SQL and ESPN’s proprietary data base to provide trend analysis and support for outcome predictions for NHL playoff games and PGA golf tour • Utilized ESPN viewership intelligence to drive departmental priority. • Led and participated on multiple teams to produce innovative and differentiating statistics based off of live game video tracking; including ESPN’s NFL, NCAA football and NHL video tracking teams. • Created and maintained comprehensive college football database using Access; this database is used for pivot tables, data visualizations and analytic models used by ESPN programming to enhance sports presentations. • Utilized advanced Excel formulas and macros to ensure accuracy of tens of thousands of new data points on a daily basis, preserving the integrity of various ESPN sports’ databases. • Assisted in the design, development and training of multiple ESPN newsroom business applications that are used to process and store data for ESPN programming use.
