Daily Duties at Oracle America, Inc.:

I work as a Deal Manager in the Software Applications group, my duties are to draft and negotiate licensing agreements for application products. I work with the business team on terms, the tax group on tax related issues, the revenue recognition group on FCC issues and rev rec issues. I draft the legal and business terms and then negotiate with major strategic customers. Currently, I also serve as a team lead, mentoring and training newer team members (approximately 10-12), helping on more complex matters(deals with nonstandard language or business approvals that require significant drafting and negotiations), reviewing team members work (about 1-2 times a month or if the manager requires help), conducting interviews for new hires and running training exercises for members of my group and the sales force. I have been asked to give live training sessions, phone sessions and travel to give training to sales teams I support. I also served on a committee along with about 12 other people in about 3 business units to create a new Deal Approval System to help streamline the corporate approval structure to make the process of getting legal and business approvals done faster and in a less complex manner.
