Daily Duties at Ameritech:
Analyzed and designed a DB2 financial information warehouse and a data layer building block with two development teams. Created the application development workstation (ADW) data models, data flow diagrams, attribute and information type definitions for the financial information warehouse and the data layer building block. Developed detailed extract processes for daily, monthly, and on request use, using QMF, COBOL II and PL/1, to pull large volumes of data from the DB2 financial information warehouse into sequential files used to create FOCUS databases. Assisted in re-engineering an existing system from FOCUS to COBOL II. Created CICS on-line access and COBOL II batch access to DB2 databases using Netron/CAP. Tested using Micro Focus COBOL II workbench. Developed a disaster recovery system to move prior year data off FOCUS and VSAM databases to tape.
