Daily Duties at Compuware:

Served as a technical consultant in a financial company. Assisted in maintenance of COBOL II CICS online programs using VSAM files. Served as a technical consultant in the manufacturing industry. Participated in two Payroll conversion projects. One included the conversion of existing COBOL/IMS programs into COBOL II programs to be processed through a purchased COBOL II package. The second was to integrate recently purchased manufacturing companies into the parent companies DB2 payroll system. Both included coding, unit and system testing, JCL and SQL modifications, and associated documentation. Responsible for all batch aspects of the Service Management System. This included complete development cycle with installation and documentation of the COBOL II programs, DB2 tables, SQL and associated JCL for general maintenance, minor developments and one large development project that provided preliminary financial information on scheduled invoices used in multiple downstream systems. Participated in the creation of an interactive communications project between the Main Frame Order Demand System and a Powerman System in another state location. This included two-way asynchronous communication between the systems, acknowledging receipt, and error processing. Helped analyze, design and perform system user interfacing; coded new programs and modified designed system test; performed testing, using the existing MQ Series; created batch jobs to re-send records unacknowledged during the day.
