Daily Duties at Boeing:
Support the manufacture, test, and inspection of parts, components, and various accessories for installation and interface to manufacturing structures and systems. Identify, plan, deploy, and monitor product and process improvements to eliminate quality defects and improve delivery performance to the customer. Improve efficiency of deliverables through development of new manufacturing processes or optimizing current manufacturing processes. Review requirements of associated tooling and fixtures and promote new design or redesign to achieve needed improvements for efficiency and safety. Provide primary engineering support to production that include drawing interpretation, development of production Standard Work documentation, and establishment of approved work-around plans, as needed, to maintain systemic production critical path. Participate in Engineering Change Order process to incorporate baseline standard work plans and corrections or improvement that affects structured production flow, Bills of Materials, tooling, and equipment. Review engineering changes to existing products. Determine the effects of the change on the products performance as well as on manufacturing. Update the inspection and manufacturing documentation and processes to support the changes. Evaluate manufacturing problems, product problems, and field complaints to determine opportunities for improving manufacturing, product performance, and field service via problem solving techniques and cross functional activities. Lead and manage functional activities to integrate LEAN principles, processes, tools, and measures in identifying improvement opportunities and technical solutions in areas of engineering design and specifications translated into the manufacturing build process. Assist internal and external suppliers with process and quality issues by performing root-cause analysis and formulating appropriate corrective action. Ensure that the corrective process is capable and stable to meet the objectives. Provide overall supervision/management of activities of cross-disciplined team assigned to technical projects involving product or process development or improvement, resolution of production problems, or identifying possible new areas of technical exploration. Ensure deliverable are aligned with organization objectives and provide appropriate control over budget forecasts and guidelines, equipment and supply needs, schedules, and customer satisfaction.
