While at Eastern Kentucky University and taking a full load of classes, I worked 30 hours a week for this company for $7.00 an hour. I was usually the sole shipping and receiving associate. My responsibilities. Take phone calls from different departments and go in their stock rooms and get heavy items. I stocked shoes, perfume. pillows. I set up tables for their massive inside sales and tent sales that attracted many customers. I would have to transport various pieces of furniture between stores and pick up furniture from the regional warehouse. I also was charged to help with visual merchandising and helping them put up or take down displays. At the end of my shift I would collect and sort hangers. I was also responsible for trash collection and proper disposal throughout my shift. I had to remove defective garment hangers and fix or dispose of them. I was responsible for loading all shipments going to other stores in the country. I was responsible for safety tagging the truck trailers and locking them. After this was done. when security decided the store was empty of customers and the other employees I was responsible locking the dock and back entrance of store.
