Daily Duties at Virginia Union University:
•Directed the assessment of departments-administrative and academic; designed, developed, and implemented an assessment system that reflected the University's conceptual framework •Assisted academic and administrative departments with assessing student learning and program outcomes while providing support and advisement in completion of the assessment plans •Developed, coordinated, and maintained an annual calendar of institutional assessment activities. •Participated in local, regional, and national conferences for institutional planning and assessment to assist the University in continuous improvement activities. •Supported academic and administrative units to prepare documentation for accreditation bodies. •Coordinated a systematic and integrated institutional assessment process that is aligned with accreditation and other related requirements. •Assisted with the ongoing assessment of the University Strategic Plan, ensuring the development of meaningful objectives and reporting outcomes. •Manipulated and queried specialized databases and information systems to conduct research studies to meet the information needs of the University •Managed the completion of alumni, student satisfaction, entering freshman, graduating senior, administrator, faculty, staff and graduate surveys •Directed the data collection of the ACT Compass test-- an untimed, computerized test that help colleges evaluate skills and place students into appropriate courses’; Criterion Writing Test--computer-based writing assessment that provides evaluation of students' writing skills; Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) exam to identify skills in Math, Writing, Scientific Inquiry, and Critical Thinking; and Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP)-- a national survey administered by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) •Collected information for the strategic plan from departments and/or units •Administered the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) •Ordered all national tests (i.e., Area Concentration Achievement Test (ACAT), Major Field Tests (MFT) and other standardized tests) and distributed to various areas •Analyzed and reported on CIRP Freshmen Survey data •Active participation in accreditation procedures •Administrator for the TK20 Assessment system--leading provider of campus-wide assessment software for higher education that provides solutions for outcomes assessment, college accreditation, etc.
