• Knowledge of all aspects of operating a daily newspaper on a letterpress and an offset printing press. • Mechanical and troubleshooting ability. • Flexible with workloads and schedules. • Work well in a deadline-driven team environment • Able to maintain a standing position at the press for long periods of time • Ink and water systems expert • Lift up to 80 pounds and push up to 2000 pounds of newsprint on a cart • Able to communicate with production employees to ensure smooth and efficient operation • Skilled in measuring quality and adjusting equipment using tools and instruments. • Certified fork lift operator • Press maintenance procedures comprehension • Strong attention to detail • Maintain acceptable waste goals necessary as determined by pressroom • Strong mathematical ability • Computer skills
