Daily Duties at Federal Transit Administration:

 Prepared briefing materials for the Secretary of Transportation, the FTA Administrator, FTA Regional Administrators, and other higher-level government stakeholders on evolving issues of concern/interest.  Coordinated services for events; such as accommodations for participants, booking facilities, obtaining giveaways, maintaining displays and special needs as required.  Routinely assist the Administrator, Deputy Administrator and Associate Administrator with special projects including preparation of briefing books, PowerPoint presentations and acquisition of information for inclusion in briefing books.  Maximized office and staff efficiency through the use of technology.  Participated in group activities as a team member to accomplish specified tasks or provide back-up staff support, as appropriate.  Produced a full range of Graphic products that meet agency requirements, as well as organizational quality and time standards.  Successfully met customer timeframe requirements while achieving optimum productivity while working closely with project coordinator to exceed expectations and meet production and quality goals.  Prepared a variety of graphic presentations including: brochures, ads, Layouts, posters, flyers, invitations, diagrams, etc…and visual presentations including a variety of electronic and multimedia products and services, such as power point presentations and media in support of agency requirements.  Conceptualized, planned, and designed products that are appropriate and effective for the transit audience, and conveyed the proper message and themes of the project needed. Researched the subject matter to be depicted and developed visual designs that convey the subject at hand.  Recommended points of emphasis for presenting words and images, the size, the layout, media, color, lighting and/or special effects, use of photographs or illustrations and their incorporation into effective communication pieces, as well as provided materials or suggestions for project modifications needed.  Analyzed information by using on-line sources, scanners, and other digital imaging technologies provided to create high quality aesthetics, for briefings and background materials to complete yearly publications; such as the FTA Report to congress; in print and various other media types using various software tools.  Managed records of the sources material, rights and other information concerning photographs and visual material.  Maintained accurate records of leave and attendance and enters accurate information into the Time and Attendance database in a timely manner to ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time.  Worked closely with supervisor/managers/staff members to identify and resolve complex or controversial issues that result in meeting deadlines and schedules on assignments, meetings, projects, and correspondence.  Performed a variety of functions relating to public and congressional affairs activities, including drafting memos, preparing briefing materials and speech cards, developing graphics, posting the news digest and coordinating materials.  Debriefed supervisors, and offered suggestions and/or solutions as appropriate.  Processed incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
