Daily Duties at Health Care Partners Of Nevada:

Took a part time LPN back office position as there were no RN positions open at the time and I wanted to get into the organization and hopefully work my way into a full time RN position. My duties include assisting the physicians with procedures, IV therapy, prepare medications and administer injections, triage, emergencies and help patients with prior authorizations for medications, teaching patients about their conditions and medications, and supervise, teach and assist the Medical Assistants. Last year my duties also included transitioning patients from Senior Dimensions to Humana by working closely with Humana representitives, Physicians and Patients to make this transition as comfortable as possible for them. This includes educating the physicians and all staff about new policies and procedures. I have developed many policies and procedures to make the many changes in the care of our patients run as smoothly as possible. Some of these changes occured daily. I educated the staff about the Comprehensive Examinations and give written step by step procedures. I am available for the physicians when a patient has questions about their new insurance plans and go into examination rooms when asked and explain how the new Humana Insurance benefit them and have formed strong relationships with them as they know they can call me whenever they have a question or problem. I worked with spreadsheets, 6 month lists, Chart Master Review and pursuit lists on a daily basis during this transition period. I have formed a relationship with the Humana representitives to recieve information as needed to assist patients with helping them solve issues that may arise both with their insurance and prescription drugs. I also work on other projects as needed for the Practice Manager and corporate such as helping with the credentialing for the physicians, educationing the physicians with Member Profile sheets and supression forms and various other duties as they arise. I was in close contact with the Practice Manager at that time and many coorporate representitives brainstorming and developing ways in making Health Care Partners a 5 star organization.
