Daily Duties at Us Navy:
Managed and supervised 10 personnel in the repair, maintenance, and safe operations of: a $70 million dollar unmanned undersea vehicle/remote operated vehicle (UUV/ROV); a submarine-launched near term mine reconnaissance (NMRS/AN/BLQ-11 LMRS); and undersea surveillance systems. Utilized unique troubleshooting skills (standard technical manuals were not available) for a broad range of operations and equipment in the areas of electronic, electrical, optical, mechanical, and fiber optics -- using: digital oscilloscopes; volt-ohm-amp multimeters; Optical Power Meters and Sources; Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs); Arc-Fusion Splicing Equipment; and using Fiber Optic Connector assembly procedures. Administrated and maintained security measures of a classified local area network (LAN) system including: system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Created operational guidelines and tested the maintenance, repair, and operational procedures for current and future UUV/ROV systems. I was recognized as a UUV systems battery expert by NAVSEA PMS-403 personnel for integrating Labview Graphical Programming into the NMRS battery charging automation. Instrumental in (and awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for) the establishment of the UUV center of excellence in Bangor, WA.
