Daily Duties at Navsea Nuwc Keyport Det Pac:
Member of a unique maintenance support activity whose sole purpose is to ensure that 21 submarines in the Pacific theater of operations maintain a 100% status level to conduct all assigned missions and deployments on schedule. Provided technical support on the: Type 18B/H/J, Type 8B/J MOD 3, and Type 8K MOD 4 periscope systems; AN/WLR-8 Electronic Surveillance Measure (ESM) System; and the AN/BLQ-10 ESM System. I was assigned as the Periscope On-Site Representative in Guam supporting the submarine tender Frank Cable (AS-40) as a leading mentor and civilian supervisor for new military technicians arriving at the periscope shop 35A. I supported the Commander Submarine Squadron 15 and Commander Submarine Group Seven for technical support issues and repairs to deployed units in the Pacific theater of operations on a moment's notice.
