Daily Duties at University Of Nebraska Lincoln:

I was hired as a part time student to help out with experiments in the structural lab. I was exposed to a variety of project for different professor which expanded my knoweldge in this field. Mainly I was responsible for help concrete mixing in general and especially self consolidated concrete. Also, I was responsible for developing some of the testing apparatus for the self consolidated concrete testing which went on for about a year. I worked with another student and the lab supervisor. My tasks included: 1. Conducted compression and tensile tests on concrete cylinders. 2. Performed experimental tests including: J-ring, Slump flow, L-box, Static segregation test, and Cassion test for different mixes of self consolidated concrete. 3. Developed apparatus for new tests such as segregation test and cassion test. 4. Conducted concrete mixes based on proportions provided by the lab manager.
