Daily Duties at Centre For Drug Research & Development:
I was the scientific liaison for academic research laboratories and CDRD department heads. My daily activities involved working within and across CDRD’s teams to prepare written evaluations of the commercial and therapeutic potential of drug discovery projects. I would meet face to face with CDRD scientists, affiliated research groups, technology transfer offices, and academic researchers to establish and maintain relationships. In the brief time I was there I managed to successfully secure funding for one academic researcher by using the scientific data provided to me by the researcher (see achievements). Assisted in seeking and securing funding for CDRD projects and strategic initiatives that support the commercialization of drug discovery. I used the company software to tracked and report on progress to ensure transparent communication between all functional levels of the organization. I maintained contact databases and listings, scheduled presentations between CDRD and investigators and tracked follow-up.
What they like about Centre For Drug Research & Development:
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
