Daily Duties at Kaiser H Ill (Ch2 M Hill):
Upon being recruited to CH2MHill as VP Deputy Project Director, Building 371/374 at Rocky Flats Environmental Remediation Site. I was responsible for the day to day operation of Building 371/374. At the time Building 371 held the majority of the world's supply of weapons grade plutonium and was processing it for ultimate disposal using a process called PuSPS. In this position, I had the responsibility for operating the facility within its safety basis, processing the plutonium reserve, processing other radioactive materials left from the nuclear weapons era and preparing the building(s) for ultimate demolition. This work scope was a subset of the overall $7B remediation project of the Rocky Flats site. The operating team of building 371/374 was approximately 600 professionals, with a complementary decommissioning organization of approximately 100. Ultimately served as the Independent Safety Review Committee Chairman for buildings 707, 776, 777 and 371/4.
