Daily Duties at United States Navy:
Managed 460 maintenance technicians and 18 EA6B aircraft Performed maintenance on a regular basis while assigned to Maintenance Control to troubleshoot and repair a large number of hard down discrepancies due to my technical expertise that the shop had problems figuring out Command relied on me over the Technical Representatives to figure out complicated electrical and electronic problems. Work directly with aircraft mechanics and airframes hydraulic systems that are interrelated with the electrical systems (Electrical Hydraulic, and Electrical Mechanical systems) Managed aircraft hours, calendar inspections, and discrepancies through a Computerized Data Base system Ensured all modification or upgrades were completed and aircraft log books kept up to date Management skills enabled the squadron to produce 8,500 flight hours qualifying 30 pilots and 85 additional crewmembers for the Navy Fleet, surpassing production goals Coordinated transportation, living quarters, logistics, and maintenance spaces for travel for a large percentage of the squadron to NAS North Island San Diego, 3 different Navy Aircraft Carriers, and MCAS Cherry Point South Carolina, staying in or under Budget Directly responsible for the safe execution of 661 flight hours and 329 sorties during a 3 week period in South Carolina Performed counseling and evaluations for the development of Navy personnel Letter signed by the Commanding Officer authorizing me to release aircraft Safe for Flight As Quality Control Lead Supervisor supervised 5 Quality Assurance Inspectors and 28 Quality Control Inspectors for production shops. Qualified as multi-systems in power plant, electronics, avionics, airframe, and environmental systems. Performed inspections on all safety of flight components, during build up, installation, and operational checks. Reviewed technical manuals and technical directives to determine their applicability and accuracy. Reported maintenance discrepancies to agencies through messages and computer based programs. Performed audits and monitors on production shops using computer based evaluation check lists. Technical Task Force Lead investigating trouble areas and providing recommendations for corrective actions. Reviewed safety, maintenance data, and discrepancy reports to build a trend analysis report on specific problem areas. Performed maintenance on a regular basis while assigned to QA to troubleshoot and repair a large number of hard down discrepancies due to my technical expertise that the shop had problems figuring out Supervised the aviation electrical work center of 10 to 12 people Performed Quality Assurance Inspections Tested, installed, and maintained a wide range of aircraft instruments and electrical equipment, including generators, motors, and lighting systems Read electrical system diagrams Maintained aircraft compass systems Performed electrical troubleshooting operations Used a variety of electrical measuring equipment Maintained automatic flight control systems Wire and Connector Repair utilizing splices, crimping, and soldering Repaired aircraft in combat situations Performed Prevention and Treatment of Corrosion Work directly with aircraft mechanics and airframes hydraulic systems that are interrelated with the electrical systems (Electrical Hydraulic, and Electrical Mechanical systems) Maintain the Pitot Static System for Flight Instruments Senior Instructor and Course Manager for nine component repair courses Instructor for aircraft maintenance of electrical/instrument systems Improved automatic flight control course by correcting serious technical discrepancies and cutting the course by 10 instructional days, which improved safety of maintenance and saved the Navy Millions of dollars Corrected technical discrepancies in the curriculum for 9 courses Graduated 56 students with a 96% grade point average over a one year period Performed Quality Assurance Inspections on Equipment and Aircraft Labs Took students over to different squadrons to perform real maintenance on Fleet Aircraft Performed component repair on Automatic Flight Control Systems utilizing the Flight Mini-Sace test console, which used Syncro Servo systems, Micro Logics, Analog to Digital converters, and Digital to Analog Converters to include the following components: Air Navigation Computers / Three Axis Rate Gyros / Aircraft Control Sticks / Air Data Computers / Accelerometers / Electronic Control Amplifiers / Inertial Navigation Systems / Signal Data Converters Performed Quality Control Inspections on repairs and functions of components Shift Supervisor of 10-15 people Read electrical and electronic system diagrams Soldered circuit boards at the micro-miniature level to include but not limited to: Resistors / Capacitors / Transistors / Modules / Micro Logic PACS / Reflow circuit board runs Use a variety of electrical measuring equipment to include: Multimeter / Oscilloscope / Huntron / Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) / Precision pressure gauges / Resistor Decade Box Performed preflight, post flight, daily, and turnaround inspections of aircraft Performed the servicing of aircraft engines, aircraft fuel systems, hydraulic systems and aircraft tires Ensured the safe launch, trouble shooting of discrepancies, and recovery of aircraft
