Daily Duties at Raytheon:

Supported the CFO and Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance and Accounting Department. Relieved the CFO and Senior Accountant of certain task that will allow them to spend a greater portion of their time on financial statement preparation and analysis, budget and variance issues, and forecasting. Prepared and posted journal entries for monthly TA Summaries and month-end close. Analyzed total corporate expenses, including comparisons to forecasted results and trended results. Tracked and allocated costs associated with employees working overseas. Corresponded with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses. Managed workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Reconciled payroll prior to transmission and validated confirmed reports. Processed employee Time & Attendance data from the time system to CostPoint and reconciled variances. Prepared accurate employee payroll. Transmitted semi-monthly payroll to an outside vendor. Provided customer service to employees in the area of payroll, benefits and taxes. Assisted employees how to enter their time, where to locate forms and information on company’s intranet, where to send completed forms, who to contact for benefit questions and how to obtain IRS instructions on withholding issues. Kept employee records and computer records updated with current employee information, i.e. rates, W4 status, benefit status, and contact information. Performed manual update of vacation accruals for those employees working in more than one department during a pay cycle. Processed contractual bi-weekly and monthly billing. Issued billing adjustments and worked with the compliance department on all IOT inquiries. Interfaced with internal customer service on customer inquiries. Reported process flow issues to Billing Supervisors. Reviewed billed invoices for collection efforts. Made outbound collection calls with keeping and improving customer relations. Resolved client-billing issues and rescued accounts receivable delinquency, applied quality customer service in a timely manner. Identified issues attributing to account delinquency and discussed them with management. Reviewed and monitored assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports. Provided timely follow-ups on payment arrangements. Performed rate variance and rate adjustments for year-end close. Complied and followed all procedures within the company’s security policy, accounting systems and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Theories.
