Daily Duties at Calypte Biomedical:
Prepare media and buffer solutions. Grow mammalian and insect cells utilizing aseptic technique. Tangential flow separation of virus and cells using sucrose gradient ultracentrifugation, and column chromatography. Concentrate virus cells and bio purify viral and recombinant antigens. Inactivate virus with psoralen/ UV reactor. Dialyzed HIV-1 viral antigen for manufacturing Western Blot Strips. Perform contamination testing, cell counts Follow all cGMPs, and SOPs, and safety procedures Operate Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and perform environmental monitoring of facility Decontaminate the facility as required and properly dispose of hazardous waste Perform process and equipment validations Assist in writing and revising SOPs Accurately maintain all required documentation, laboratory records, and notebooks Perform indirect Immuno-fluorescence Assays Performed Western Blot and Elisa assays
