Daily Duties at Maxim Biomedical Inc:
Supervision of activities in manufacturing. Performed mammalian and baculovirus cell culture Produce working cell banks for H9/HIV-1 cells Produce working cell bank for SF9 cells and working virus seed bank for recombinant gp 160 virus. Tangential Flow Filtration of H9/HIV-1 cells using Millipore Prostake and Pellicon Ultrafiltration system, and also gp 160 infected SF9 insect cells using Sartocon Tangential flow system. Prepare media and buffer solutions to support all departments. Perform column chromatography purification of recombinant gp 160 cell paste Ensure current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) compliance in all areas of responsibility, as well as preparing/ reviewing all required manufacturing procedure documentation for assigned production activities. Ensure proper training of employees assigned and maintain training records. Work with QA to validate new equipment and processes. Manufacturing project lead for technology transfer of (BLA) ESA Chagas Confirmatory test from Abbott Diagnostic to Maxim Biomedical. Manufacturing project lead for technology transfer of HIV-1 Microelisa System from Avioq Inc. to Maxim Biomedical. Enforce safety guidelines in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Participate in the hiring and appraisal of employees.
